Aberdeen Surgical website.

Aberdeen Surgical employs two experienced nurses as advanced scrub practitioners (ASP).  The ASP role is central to our way of working and as such is a departure from traditional private practise.

The primarily role of the ASP involves assisting the surgeon in the operating theatre. Having two ASPs who work specifically with Aberdeen Surgical, we can ensure that we have a very experienced dependable assistants available at all times. In addition, our nurses are involved at all stages of our patients’ stay in hospital; assisting with pre surgical preparation and follow-up after surgery.

Stuart and Steve who have been with Aberdeen Surgical since the company started were the first advanced scrub practitioners working in the private sector in Scotland. We are proud to say that Aberdeen Surgical has been at the forefront of developing the role of the ASP in Scotland.
